PORTLAND, Ore. – Columbia Sportswear, a leading innovator in active outdoor apparel, footwear, accessories and gear, is proud to announce a multi-year sponsorship with NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace. Columbia will leverage its premier sponsorship of NASCAR drivers and teams to promote its innovative product lines and exclusive technologies, including its PFG (Performance Fishing Gear) collection.
“There has always been a strong connection between NASCAR and Columbia, especially with PFG,” said Columbia brand president Joe Boyle. “We are delighted at the opportunity to work with Bubba and Richard Petty Motorsports to engage our mutual fans.”
Wallace said, “Columbia Sportswear is a perfect fit for my lifestyle away from the track. I love spending time outdoors – boating, golfing, hiking, photography – anything that can help me decompress from a busy running schedule. I am beyond thrilled to be part of the Columbia family and look forward to working with them on unique content and wearing their colors next weekend at Dover (International Speedway).
A six-time NASCAR National Series winner, Wallace was recently thrust into the national spotlight when his calls for NASCAR to ban the Confederate flag at all events finally carried through. It promotes a message of “compassion, love, understanding” with the intention of making racing more inclusive and ultimately expanding NASCAR’s reach.
“In addition to his racing talent, Bubba is a charismatic and courageous leader,” Boyle said. “It’s his inner strength that best aligns with the Columbia brand and our Tested Tough philosophy. Bubba is a pioneer of Tested Tough and we’re excited to work with him.
When he’s not racing 200 mph on the best tracks on the NASCAR circuit, Wallace can often be found outdoors hiking, fishing, mountain biking, golfing and snapping photos of incredible wild areas. As part of this sponsorship, Columbia will work closely with Wallace to continue the brand’s efforts to open up the outdoors to everyone.
Columbia’s #43 Chevrolet Camaro will debut August 23 at Drydene 311 in Dover.
