VANCOUVER – After kicking off the Canada West regular season on the road, the UBC Thunderbirds (2-1-1) will return to the Point Gray campus to host the Calgary Dinos (0-4-0) for their series of home opener at Wright Field on Saturday, October 1stand Sunday October 2n/a – both at 11:00 a.m. (PT).

The T-Birds were on Vancouver Island last weekend to face the University of Victoria Vikes, three-time defending U SPORTS champions, and earned a shootout victory in Game 1, before losing 4-1 in the second game.
Calgary’s last conference action was a pair of shutout losses to the Thunderbirds, 2-0 and 1-0, two weekends ago in Alberta – as the Dinos are still looking for their first Canada West win of the season.
“I expect the Dinos to come out stronger than last time,” Sandhu continued. “We know that this team adapts well to their opponents and offers a fast and competitive game. They are aggressive in attack and relentless in defense, so we want to be prepared for that and stick to our game plan.
